The Tattered Cover Book Store began as a small store with only 950 square feet of retail space and two employees in the Cherry Creek North district of Denver, Colorado, a literary cowtown. It has grown for more than 35 years into one of the premier bookstores in America, with three expansive locations in the greater Denver Metro area: on Colfax Avenue, south of City Park; in Historic Lower Downtown, near Union Station; and at the Highlands Ranch town center.

Founded in 1989 on a whim and with the hope that the store would last through the holiday season (we rented a seasonal space), Cry Baby Ranch has grown and morphed into a Western meets anything colorful and cool extravaganza! The first few years were focused on Vintage Western pieces and now continues to maintain Western style from decades past. Although the owner of the store, Roxanne Thurman, is from Texas and takes much of her inspiration from her home state, Denver has been the perfect location.
